It has been a week, and 25 new user registration, since the first introduction of Dripp.net. Initial response was satisfactory, considering multiple issues, bugs and defects.
First interesting case is User-Registration flow, which is designed to be very less restrictive, in order to have users start with their experience right away. The current existing flow is:
- Users fill out the registration from and submit
- Verification email is dispatched, and users can start declaring their first car
- While waiting for email, users can complete their user profile and car profile
- No other activities, such as: tracking, submission or uploads, is allowed for non-validated accounts.
It turns out almost 80% of registrants did not validate their accounts. According to a quick survey that I did, there are a few bugs and bad presentations that cause users not to validate their accounts.
- Bugs: Users were allowed to post comments and track articles
- Bad Design: Warning Bar is not big enough that users did not notice it
- Bugs: Email format needs to be adjusted in order to show up in inbox, rather than junk mail folders
Solutions:
While fixing a few bugs, we will introduce a bigger warning bar, in order to respond every actions made by users. In addition, we’ll also introduce a smart bar, that will guide users of things need to be done, or required to do.
See you in the next review …
